Morning at the Fort (Steele)

Twelve local artists were invited this year to start a gallery at Fort Steele, a heritage park in British Columbia. We've all enjoyed our time and taking photos, painting etc. This painting was done from there, just behind the chicken coop.

Loon Patterns

This is a recent mixed media painting done for a regional competition. The pattern on the background is a repeat of the pattern on a loon's back.
Will it win? We'll see.

Golden City

This is a sample of my mixed media paintings. I dyed several kinds of archival papers, then ripped and glued to my hearts content. It was finished off with the city and some glazing. It took People's Choice award at a regional show. If you are interested in any of my paintings please email me r_vmacphee@hotmail.com

Brayden

Grandma's off to visit this little man and newborn brother (no picture yet) for a couple of weeks. He's going to be an artist cuz he's practices up all over the living room walls and carpets! How can you get mad at a face like that, Mommy?

Looney Tune

In this part of Canada we have a lot of loons with their beautiful tune. I've started a small series so keep tuned.

Fisher Peak

This is Fisher Peak, a majestic mountain outside our town in BC. In the summer it's very blue, mauve, and pinks. It has snow for a good portion of the year.

Blue Heron

We saw this beauty on the West Coast, Vancouver Island. He was not spooked at all. Of course, I took a little creative liscense with his coloring.
