Well, tonight is the night of my solo exhibition. Lots of work and lots of painting later, there is now 35 new paintings. This one is done based on our visit to Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island. Those trees are huge and so twisted and knarled they must have some great stories to tell. You'll probably be seeing a few more of these.

Spring is Here

I think it's done!!! I may need to tweek a thing or two yet but thought I would post it anyway. Because the dominant color is green I tried to break the monotony with bits of reds and oranges and purples that may not be visible in the photo.

The snow was just beginning to melt on the Moyie River. The sun was shining and it was such a beautiful spring day. I was really happy with the way the colors turned out with the orange peeking through here and there as contrast.

This is a recent mixed media painting done for a regional competition. The pattern on the background is a repeat of the pattern on a loon's back.

This is a sample of my mixed media paintings. I dyed several kinds of archival papers, then ripped and glued to my hearts content. It was finished off with the city and some glazing. Grandma's off to visit this little man and newborn brother (no picture yet) for a couple of weeks. He's going to be an artist cuz he's practices up all over the living room walls and carpets! How can you get mad at a face like that, Mommy?

This is Fisher Peak, a majestic mountain outside our town in BC. In the summer it's very blue, mauve, and pinks. It has snow for a good portion of the year.
